Renaissance Cedar Top with Purpleheart back & sides***
This unique classical guitar has an ancient cedar soundboard harvested from an already fallen tree on Vancouver island. The wood has been carbon dated to 659 years +/-21 year. Not only does it have a unique look because of it’s age, but it is fully broken in and the sound is mature and robust. This is a very rare and unusual type of wood. For the back and sides of this guitar, we have chosen Purpleheart, a wood with an unusual purple color, and a hardness similar to Rosewood or Ebony. This is a loud well rounded performance instrument. The custom tuning machines are from Barnett Tuners in Berlin, and are possibly the finest tuning machines I've ever used.
***This guitar will be available to play or purchase at the GFA Guitar Foundation of America convention June 16-21 in Louisville, Kentucky at the University of Louisville.
